I believe they are outraged because ...


I believe that they are outraged because the only real option they have is an enterprise that relies on an illegal restriction of trade. The fact that it's the only real option is why they all take it anyway. That doesn't mean that what the NCAA has built is defacto legal.

The NCAA always has the option of ripping out the professionalization and returning to some semblance of WWII-era collegiate athletics. But no one seems to want that. They all want big time college sports to be almost professional, but without paying the players.

And while you, I, or anyone else on this board may very well be able to come up with 10 different ways this could have been better handled the fact of the matter is that the NCAA has fought all of that with every fiber of their being.

Things will change.
